FAQ: Tuxedo and Suit Rentals at District 1
Everything you need to know about renting a tuxedo or suit from District 1, right here in the heart of historic downtown Lebanon, Ohio.
Getting Started with Your Rental
How does the rental process work?
It’s super simple! You can pre-shop on our website to familarize yourself with the many styles we have to offer. Then at your convenience, viisit us in store to record and register your event.
Can my whole wedding party join the fun?
Definitely! Once your event is registered you can bring your wedding party in to get measured together. We have a great brewery right around the corner from us and is a good way to add a little fun to this task while you check off your "honey-do" list.
I’m a groomsman. What do I need to do?
Once the event is set up, you can come in as a ground, individually or call in measurements that you have had taken at men's wear retailer.
Is the quality of rentals from District 1 good?
You bet! We take pride in our high-quality formalwear. Every tuxedo, suit, and accessory is carefully maintained and inspected to meet our high standards. You can count on looking sharp!
Rental Basics
Do I need an account to rent?
Yes, you’ll need to set up an account. Don’t worry, it’s quick and easy!
When should I rent my tux or suit?
As soon as you know you’ll need one! To avoid any last-minute rush and to ensure we have your size and style, try to place your order at least 4-5 weeks before your event.
Can I rent just a few pieces instead of a full outfit?
We suggest renting a complete ensemble for the best value (coat, pants, shirt, vest, tie, and jewelry). But if you’re looking to rent fewer items, swing by our store in downtown Lebanon, and we’ll help you out!
Measurements and Fit
How can I get measured?
You have options:
- Stop by District 1 or visit a professional tailor. Make sure to use our Measurement Form to get all the right measurements.
- If you already know your measurements, just let us know what they are.
When do I need to submit my measurements?
Please have your measurements to us at least 4 weeks before your event.
What sizes are available?
We cater to both men and boys:
- Coats: 3 boys' to 74 long in men's
- Pant Waist: 18"-71"
- Shirt Neck: 10"-27"
- Boys' Shoe Sizes: 7 Toddler to 5 ½ Boys'
- Men’s Shoe Sizes: 6-18, Medium and Wide widths
What if my tuxedo doesn’t fit right?
No problem! We can do a variety of alterations in house. If need be, we can typically get a re-ordered item next day with re-orders placed before 3:00 PM.
Pricing and Payment
How much does it cost to rent a tuxedo or suit?
Our rental packages start at just $115. If you want to personalize your look with accessories, the cost may go up a bit. Visit us for more budget-friendly options!
What does my payment include?
Your payment covers all rental charges, a $8 damage waiver per person, and any applicable taxes. Extra charges may apply for extended rentals or replacements.
Can I pay for someone else’s rental?
Sure thing! You can pay for the whole group or just specific members during checkout.
Receiving Your Ensemble
When will my item arrive?
We typically received orders a week before the event and up to 3 days prior. We we receive the items, we will send a text message informing the arrival. We ask that every effort is made to come in as soon as possible once you are notified. This allows plenty of time to ensure a perfect fit.
Returning Your Ensemble
How do I return my ensemble after my event?
Bring your ensemble back to District 1 in downtown Lebanon the next business day after your event to avoid late fees. It doesn't matter who returns the items as long as they make it back.
What happens if I’m late returning my ensemble?
We charge a $20 per day late fee, so make sure to return your outfit on time to avoid extra charges.
Fitting Tips
Jacket
- The jacket should button comfortably.
- Only the top button should be fastened when you’re standing.
- Sleeves should end at your wrist.
Trousers
- Adjust the waist using the side clamps for a perfect fit.
Shirt and Jewelry
- Insert studs into the shirt’s buttonholes from the back. Cufflinks should be worn with formal shirts.
Tie
- Adjust the tie band so it fits your neck comfortably.
Vest
- Use the adjustment strap on the back to tailor the fit.
